Striking and Therapeutic Conversations. A Knockout Combination!

Impact Therapy

It is a step by step process where we use striking, hand eye coordination, breathing and footwork to help you conquer your mental hurdles.

As children we are taught to suppress our most natural instinct, STRIKING. We are told it’s wrong and should never use it. In my opinion this is a travesty, we are suppressing a natural stress reliever that if taught correctly has many physical and mental benefits.

My mission is to dismantle the negative stigma that society has taught us and prove the continuity between fist and mind to improve mental clarity and confidence.

  • The Birth of Impact Therapy

I came up with this idea through the 10+ years of my professional fitness career. While teaching people how to box I noticed their was a huge release of adrenaline, aggression and stress that helped them think and perform better throughout their day. This is not accidental there are thousands of studies that show adrenaline release spikes the bodies natural endorphins which helps the body perform better on all levels throughout your day. My clients not only came to me with their physical problems they came to me with their mental and emotional problems as well. Being able to tackle both avenues of health at the same time is a revolutionary method of therapy that I am happy to introduce to the world.

  • Boxing Benefits

Oneofthe key mental health benefitsofboxing is stress relief. It directly fights against the feelings of stress and allows you to calm down while benefiting from the post-exercise feeling you get from the endorphins — often referred to as "runner's high."

  • It's the combination of aerobic, cardiovascular exercise and complex movement patterns which enables boxing to have a positive impact on depression and anxiety, lasting well beyond the hour-long session: you have to move and think.

  • Boxing improves your mood. The result is an increase in your mood, a boost of relaxation, and better sleep. Research has even found that the release of these hormones through boxing could also help decrease anxiety and depression.

  • Boxing training may have an added edge over other forms of exercise in supporting cognitive brain health and potentially staving off neurodegenerative disease. It is well-established that exercise is essential to brain health.

  • A typical boxing session can burn up to 1000 calories. When compared to other cardio stables such as walking (243 calories), jogging (398 calories) and running (544 calories), the calories burned by a session of boxing beats them all. Boxing training teaches discipline, work ethic, self-control, and self-confidence.
